PhD. Jana Plaňavová-Latanowicz

Jana Plaňavová – Latanowicz lectures European Economic Law at the Centre for Europe, Warsaw University since 1997. From 1997 until 2003 she was a partner of Schaffer & Partner Law Firm, Prague. She is a member of the Czech Bar since 1994. She graduated summa cum laude from the Faculty of Law Charles University, Prague where she also received her PhD in international law and worked in early 90-ies. She is an author or co-author of numerous books and articles and has engaged in speaking and training activities for lawyers, government officials and business groups alike. Her field of specialisation is: european competition law, comparative contract law and international commecial arbitration. She has acted as sole arbitrator or as chairman of tribunals of three arbitrators on numerous occasions. These include ICC arbitrations and arbitration under UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. Having spent over two decades in Poland, she works in Polish as well as in English and her native Czech. She is fluent in Slovak, French and Russian.
